The frozen moment caught in the photograph has similarities to the film still. It has people caught posing/acting, with an awareness of the longevity of that moment and a relationship with the person behind the camera. Thinking about these links I screen-shot film stills and made ink drawings from these, alongside ink drawings from my collages. In this way I could bring the cinematic layered compositions into play when considering the configurations of my collages and paintings.
Following on from my work with photographic transfer I made screen prints of some of my collaged images. This gave me the opportunity to experiment further with scale as the unexpected element. Keeping to a monotone palette made the ambiguous fragmenting have a greater subtlety.
